Hey, it's been quite a while since I last updated this blog.
Over the past few years, I've developed a strong appreciation for the fine writing arts such as poetry and lyric writing. In cfact, I've written quite a few poems myself, and I've decided to post them here. I won't throw them all on here at once, so I think I'll make it a bit of an episodic occurrence. Let's make it... every Friday. Yeah, that sounds good. But to hold you over, I'm going to go ahead and leak one to you a bit early.
This poem is called "Break's End." Almost perfect timing, too, seeing as how Christmas Break has just ended, and the one year anniversary of my writing this was just a few days ago.
Enjoy:
Breaks End
Weeks away
From a place
Of stress and distaste
Called a break,
We wait
For a fix,
It to make
Reconnection,
Recollection,
Of what it used to be;
Not sure
Of what it will.
Loose ends tied up?
The separated,
Emancipated?
Why do we dread break’s end?
For the end of a break
Brings forth repair,
But to what extent?
